ACTEGA Coatings & Sealants

„Together we define finishing standards."

Jörg Eck, Managing Director, ACTEGA Terra GmbH
Main objective of the cooperation is to ensure the availability of high-quality coating systems for KBA's high-performance sheetfed offset presses.

KBA-Sheetfed, the world's second-largest manufacturer of sheetfed offset printing presses, and ACTEGA have entered a strategic alliance in the field of inline finishing. The new cooperation agreement further intensifies their existing partnership and places activities on an even higher, strategic level.

Application standards provide more efficiency to production and create trust with the user due to a constantly high product quality. In order to operate KBA sheetfed offset presses in an optimum way, the right selection of consumables plays an important role.

Thus, high-value overprint varnishes, which have already been approved with regard to quality and performance, will provide brilliant finishing results.

KBA and ACTEGA will be cooperating at a global level. This does not only include the equipment of new presses with appropriate coating starter kits. Moreover, joint product and sales training are planned, print demonstrations at KBA, at fairs and at customer events and the continuous further development of products concerned. To this end, regular tests will be conducted on the Rapida presses installed at the KBA customer centre. In addition, KBA and ACTEGA have further joint projects in the pipeline, such as the annual ACTEGA Terra calendar and user-oriented marketing activities.

In order to offer a broad product portfolio to the user, KBA and ACTEGA have defined a great variety of coatings and primers for the diverse printed products. Thus, the selection includes solutions for Paper-based Packaging and Labels, Publication & Commercial as well as for Flexible Packaging. The program embraces water-based gloss and matt coatings for the application on conventional inks, in the double coating unit or on hybride machines. Also available are UV based matt and gloss coatings as well as LED-UV coatings for selected markets.

All users who obtain their coating products through the ACTEGA sales network will benefit from the pre-defined product standards, as new products will already be tested and optimized for use on Rapida sheetfed offset presses.

Already during commissioning, the use of correspondingly approved products under uniform conditions will serve to establish application standards. This, in turn, will safeguard both outstanding finishing quality and high performance in the inline coating process.
